PGSG Outreach Committee (POC):

Primary Functions
The primary function of the PGSG Outreach Committee is to attend PGSG meetings on a regular basis and take active part in decisions pertaining to IE graduate students. It is expected that the committee will inform the GSO and IE students of developments in the senate in a timely manner.
The committee will be in charge of communicating to the senate of upcoming GSO events and ensuring that they are placed on PGSGS meeting agendas. This will enable senators from other departments to inform their departments of pertaining GSO events.
The committee will work on educating its members of senate rules, regulations and proceedings and create a continuous pool of future senators.
The committee will have the ultimate purpose of increasing its membership to 5 students which it will take on immediately once Fall semester begins (with the arrival of new students to campus).

Previous administrations have secured a pledge of $2,000 from a donor for 10 years beginning with 2010; however last year’s donation never made it into IE GSO’s account. Thus, initial project for the committee will be tracking of this donation and sorting out funds. And it shall be the committee’s responsibility to track this money for oncoming years in a timely fashion.

If need be, the committee will look into providing graduate students a medium for improving their presentation skills by organizing a student seminar series separate from IE 697.
